My leftified De Armond Starfire - plays like a charm - with my earthquake-causing rig: marshall jcm 800 bass series w/ fender cabinet.

Hey! Did you convert that bass to lefty, or was done by the previous owner?

Now there's a rig I bet Jack Cassidy would have been proud to play back the old Hot Tuna days.

Very cool indeed!

@ andrew: I had the conversion done by the guitartech at a local musicstore. Quite happy with the result.

@AzWhoFan: thanks! :)

Then great minds think alike, I had that exact same kind of bass in that color that I also converted to a lefty. I did the same to an Ibanez Artcore hollowbody so I sold the Dearmond because I preferred the Ibanez's 34" scale. My meat hooks never seem to jive with a 30" scale bass.

Those DeArmonds were/are great basses. I remember when they came out. Many players considered them better than the Guild Starfire reissues that came out around the same time.

I really liked the tone of the DeArmond. A lot of people bag on the pickups that come in them, but I really dug the tone of them.

Can't agree more. Those standard pickups do sound great!

Thanks guys!
Concerning those knobs on the starfire: that's what you get when you turn a righty left: o truckload of knobs that are always where they shouldn't be. :D
