The lefty 74 Grabber is coming along!
Here's a couple pics of the body that Michael sent me this morning.
He tinted the clear to match the neck.

Looking great!
I didn't realize that Dolan was still in business, glad to hear it.

Looks great! I bet that's going to turn some heads when you post a photo of it next to the G3 on a Gibson forum 8-)

As far as Dots on both sides of the neck that was common for Gibson, I had a 71 Les Paul with Dots on both sides.

The grain on that body is Gorgeous! Glad it's being highlighted with the new finish...

Ian, it's not the same bass, the one I posted is a G3 with 3 pickups.
This one is a 74 Grabber with the sliding pickup.
It lived most of it's life as a righty but Michael Dolan made a lefty body for it.
He also matched the aged neck finish on the body, aded a lefty pickguard and added side dots on the neck.
Check out the latest update on it:

Oh that's pretty neat! I'm willing to bet that the G3 was a custom body. How much does Michael Dolan charge for a custom G3/Grabber body or pickguard?

Paulo, I'm curious about the sliding pickup.. is there a notable difference from one end of its range to the other?

Thanks!
As far as I remember, a little less than $950. And the right handed body sold on Ebay for $650 so it helped to cover the cost!
Now I also have to agree with you, at this point I consider the G3 a custom body as well, but made in the 70's.
