However, the bass was killer. Neck feels great, build quality is really nice. I didn’t plug it in though.
I just don’t want what basically comes down to a semi-hollow PBass.

Ok, well I made the mistake of taking it home to “take a listen before I sent it back”.

The thing sounds killer. I thought it would sound too close to a precision, but I was way wrong. By the way I love pbasses, but I’m covered in that area. The pickup is super loud and gritty, just how I like. It has a push/pull volume pot which is a “vintage” switch. I guess it’s similar to what RIC does on their 4003 basses nowadays. Sounds great in either position, but like on a RIC, I prefer the switch in the down position because it’s got more low end.
Tone pot sucks ass. It’s got no taper, so it’s all or none there. That’s really the only negative I can find.
Neck plays great, not too small. It’s slimmer from front to back than say, my Höfner Cavern, but not so small that it feels awkward.
Haven’t tried it on a strap yet, but hopefully it’ll balance ok since the body has a center block, giving it a little weight.
Very much a killer value, and seems to be a legit gigging instrument. It has rounds on it, but I bet flats would rule on this. Definitely worth checking out if you’re on the fence on one of these.

Yeah that’s the one. On an unrelated note- I’ll never understand the appeal of watching someone take things out of boxes. “Unboxing” videos make me homicidal.
