Looking for battery powered portability with decent low end punch and projection.
Outdoor use but just busking type small venues with acoustic instruments or low volume electrics.

Just thinking out of the box, wouldn't it be easier to find a portable battery back up that has AC or 12volt that could power up a small amp for a little bit? Then look for a low powered amp?

Yeah that's my other option. I'd prefer something all in one if I can find a good choice. I've heard the Roland micro cube that has a battery option and I was not impressed. Is there more than one?
Someone mentioned that Pignose now makes something for bass. Have no idea if it's any good for bass. Then there is the expensive Phil Jones.$$$, ouch!
Years ago I heard a battery operated bass amp I think by Craig that was pretty good for its size as I recall. May have to look for one of those.

There's a PJB Briefcase on TB right now:

For the price, I would double check that it comes with the battery.

I have the PJB Bass Cub and I love it. It doesn't get super loud, but it can sound big, if that makes sense.

Paulo has the Briefcase also, if you have any particular questions about it.

Maybe extend your search to battery-powered portable PA systems? There appear to be some pretty decent options out there :)

That PJB is tempting but I need to hear anything that small before deciding. Glowing written reviews and Youtube clips are not enough.

Battery operated PA systems? I never thought of that. I wonder if they can deliver decent bass sound. Again, I would have to hear first.

But thanks for these ideas and suggestions.

Try to track down a Roland BA-330, plenty of power and punch in those little PA boxes.

You may also want to try one of the newer battery powered acoustic amps like the Fishman Loudbox Mini, they've got fairly good low end response as well.

Or a bigger spend, JBL Eon One Pro. Good little portable mini-array that is battery powered with a sub.
