After a year of secret design, development and build along with countless emails, the Ken Bebensee Baruke left handed five string fretless semi hollow body uke bass is finally complete. The name comes from Ken's original body design called the Baroque, traced and shrunk down from 35.25" scale to 23" scale uke bass size, thus Baruke.

Neck laminates - Red heart, purple heart, wenge.

Body woods - Mahogany, walnut.

Top woods - Spalted myrtle with purple heart pinstripe.

Headstock - Spalted myrtle, ebony with carbon fiber reinforcement layer.

Fingerboard, bridge, knobs and truss rod cover - Macassar ebony.

Side dots & headstock logo - Abalone.

Knob dots - Mother-of-pearl.

Saddle & nut - Unbleached bone.

Active Electronics - Open-to-Source Sensors™ piezo pickup with Audere Classic 3-band EQ preamp. 9v.

Hardware - Hipshot Ultralight tuners. Dunlop Straploks.

Strings - Road Toad Pahoehoe.

Scale length - 23"

Wow, that looks stunning! Crazy specs, beautifully made, and truly a shrunk-down ultra high end bass! I love it 8-)
I really like the Pelicase-style hardcase too!

Looks Great! Precision Work, any chance you could post some sound clips?

Something that unique must have some cool sounds.

GR Bass Aerotech 212slim cabinet, 900 watts @ 4 ohms. Made in Italy, kind of hard to get now with pandemic. I had to wait 5 months. 28.5 pounds. Nice trebly bite and wide open bottom compared to my old Markbass 2x12 combo stack.

Here some quick tracks I did. I am still dialing in the sound and getting used to the fat low B string.
