That bass is beautiful, but “black swirl” is such an uninspired name for that finish.
Something like Midnight Bowling Ball or Grandmother of Pearl would be more fitting

Pretty sure I owned this bass about 25 years ago....if it is the same one it has neck dive really badly but damn the finish is bad ass...

I love the idea of a Tele style bass body, but I imagine the neck dive would such a huge drawback.

From an aesthetic standpoint, they're beautiful, but from a design/comfort standpoint they're difficult to warm up to, IMO (especially if you tend to strap your bass up higher). The lack of an upper horn makes the 1st fret feel a mile away. I remember years ago somebody was marketing a hook-like strap extender for these basses:

Funny, after reading that I remembered my DiPinto Belvedere has kind of the same issue but I’m so used to it I barely notice. Strap choice helps too and I definitely let it hang lower than a jazz or pbass.
Slight (or severe) imbalance aside, I imagine this bass plays and sounds great.
