Back when these were made in South Korea the tuners were Hipshot-licensed, but made by/for Cort somewhere in Asia. The back of the tuners used to say "Hipshot lic". I don't know why they stopped doing that, but I expect these are licensed versions too. The Bartolini-licensed Mk1's are made by Cort themselves too. The bridge on this one is Hipshot licensed too, it borrows the saddle design from the Hipshot style A but with conventional intonation screws instead of the freely moving, locking design of the style A bridge.
They're mighty fine basses, and very comfortable too. I used to own a Korean-made Cort Artisan B4 with wenge neck and fingerboard and maple stringers, and I loved the playability and feel. I didn't care for the Mk1's though.
