Hey folks....
Fender P with the narrower A neck in maple. Sunburst.
Beautiful checking. All original. G&G Case
2nd owner.
One extra screw hole in the guard....original owner moved the thumb rest.
Good weight ....showing around 9 on my bathroom scale.
Bass sounds and plays amazing. Was strung with flats...just restrung with rounds.
I have TONS of pics for the serious buyer. Just email me.

Yes, 1.5” at the nut.

Interesting - I never knew such a thing existed. The neck is the reason I never bought a P-bass, but had I seen one of these maybe I would have

To my knowledge, P basses were stamped or labeled on the heel of the neck (mostly in the seventies) with letters referring
to the nut width:
A = 1.5" (1 1/2)

B = 1.625" (1 5/8)

C = 1.75" (1 3/4)

A width neck were most likely a custom order for those who
preferred a narrower neck.
Yet with the widely known inconsistencies of the seventies,
I for instance have a 72 p bass labeled as a B neck, but when measuring
at the nut it is not quite a B or A but very close to a A neck at almost 1.5”.
Having larger hands I usually lean towards wider neck as they feel more comfortable to me.
When I started getting into Jazz basses it took me a few weeks to get use to
the narrow neck and thus string spacing.. now p or j they all feel like home ;)

It can sleep on your bed when you not using it.

Or even when you are.

(My jazz teacher in San Francisco did this.)
