I have been wanting an old Parlor Guitar for awhile and as luck would have it, I found one. I wanted something to repair that was repairable and a local estate sale bore fruit. Now while I work on it I am also looking for clues as to who (company) may have made it. It has no paper label, so I am left with looking at the appointments on the instrument and comparing them photos online. I have narrowed it down to a couple of companies but thought I'd ask you all. Currently my belief is a Lyon & Healy.
Someone at some point in the past, thinking in the late 50's or 60's converted it to a pin bridge. It started life with a tailpiece, which I did find, though it is not correct for this guitar. The back and side woods are a curly oak which is a clue. The top is spruce, the neck appears to be mahogany and the fret board is ebony.
Please let me know if you have any ideas, and Thanks!
