I do think Korean built Trabens are underrated and a very good value used. Although design aesthetics on some of their basses can be over the top, the two I have are both very well made, good playing and sounding basses- nice necks, decent preamps, and a 35 in. scale on a 4 string, which you don't see very often.
AFAIK Trabens were built in Korea thru at least 2007, but Hanser music group (B C Rich, Michael Kelly, OLP etc- which took over ownership of the brand around 2003 or so) eventually moved manufacturing to Vietnam and China and quality really suffered thereafter. The Korean made thru 2007 ones are a really great value- at $200 you'd be getting way more than your money's worth. Best I can tell, the first 2 numbers of the serial number are year of build.
