Sent the seller this post, curious to see what his response will be...
"Hello,
Just wondering if you're aware that your seventh picture, showing a close-up of the bridge section, shows that the string retainer has apparently been installed crookedly, and to the left of the center neck stringer... hard to imagine this getting past Alembic QC... or is the picture itself distorting the alignment?
No disrespect to you, and a beautiful bass, but thought you would want to know...
Ian"
Got this reply back from the seller...
"This is correct. The bridge is exactly centered for proper alignment with the neck. The brass string retainer is 1mm off center to even out the stress of the string tails, the E being straight down & the G being ever so slightly angled."Sent this back to him...
Thanks for the quick reply... In looking back at the picture, I see what you mean... makes me wonder if all SC models have the same offset?
His reply back...
Most have 2 stringers & the offset is less noticeable. Mine has 3 stringers.I have a friend who has a right hand Stanley Clark model... I'll contact him, and see if he notices the offset on string retainer...
