Wow! That is beautiful. I'm not familiar with Shuker bass, but I personally like headless basses and have been gassing for a Status for a while.

Normally, I'm not a fan of Myrtlewood, but that's the best looking Myrtlewood top I've seen! Did you pick the top out yourself?

I wish! Bought it off a guy on Basschat - same bloke I got the SEI from as it happens. Plays like a dream. didn't think I'd ever get my hands on an instrument I like more than the SEI, but here it is!

Electrics are brilliant - everything's there for a purpose - including a 3-way coil tap on the MM pickup. Basic sound is fairly bright (which I like anyway) thanks to the Ash I suspect, but the tonal variety is truly astonishing. Think of your favourite sound - trust me, it's in there somewhere! :geek:

Good catch and beautiful bass.. I love the headless basses. Small, light and no neck heavy issues. great catch. Shuker are supposed to be good basses but we don't have them in USA.

Surprisingly different from the SEI (despite appearances), and every bit as good for less money - the 'MM' pickup in this one is a monster! As an ex guitarist I really like the balance - just feels so comfortable. Will likely be coming over to the US again sometime late spring next year - if folks ask me reeeeaaaalllly nicely I could be persuaded to bring it with me... Just need somewhere to stay.

Don't suppose you'd settle for a Jaydee instead? :) :)

(Note to Andrew: any chance of an 'eyebrow' smilie? Could have done with one here..... and here 8-) )

Thats a really cool looking bass, reminds me of my Uncle's Steinbergers. He's got the normal black 4 string one and a 5 string in yellow that looks like your Shuker.
