New Uke-bass is in the house - this order dates from before my Kahuna crash!

Ordered this one three months ago through AliExpress, today it finally arrived, I'm happy to have a 'little bastard' again.

It needs some tweaks but the build quality is actually very good on this one. It also needs some new strings, I've already got a set of Aquila 91U Thunder Reds for it.
Once these new strings are on I'll post some pictures of my own, the ones here were sent to me by the seller.

Nice score!

How bad is the intonation with that reversed saddle? I'm looking to pick up a Hadean solid body Uke, but that righty saddle is very unappealing! Is it an easy fix?

Not as bad as it looks, but that's one of the tweaks I need to do.
It's probably an easy fix, just some reshaping of the bridge nut, will find out when get to it.

A easy fix. :D

15 Minutes with a couple of files and some sandpaper.
I removed the saddle from the bridge and reshaped it.

Glamor-shot of the StingRay5.

Made a new controls cavity cover instead of the stock white pickguard that was on there, it's a crime to hide this beautiful finish and woodgrain underneath a big piece of plastic!

Also bought these two last week.

And a new Harley Benton Kahuna Bass as a replacement for the one that 'crashed' a while ago. Really Missed the little bastard.

Interesting thumb-rest on the Harley Benton... stock, or did you add it?

My addition, DIY of course. ;)
It's piece of round Plexiglas (30 mm diameter) from which I took of material at several places, this shape is what is left in the end.
It is fixed to the body with clear double-sided tape.

(different instrument, same principle)

Finally got me a Spector, has been on my 'if ever at the right conditions list' for a very long time.

First impression: I like it - the shaped body feels very comfortable, same goes for the neck, fretwork is topnotch, the sound is something I did not yet have with the other 50+ basses I own (this sound thing was the main reason for wanting a Spector all this time).

More details later after I've finished setting it up and spent more hours playing it.

And another one removed from the 'if ever at the right conditions' list.

This Fortress 5 string came by at Thomann for a price I was willing to spend on it.

It will probably be turned in another black beast in the future - same way I did my fretless Corvette.

Replaced the chrome hardware with black and put on DR Black Beauties.

You've inspired me to go home and get funky on my Warwick. I've been favoring my others lately.

I did the same to my Streamer LX5. It came with gold hardware on a gloss trans black solid flamed maple body. It looks much more understated and classy with black imho.

To replace the gold hardware was the right thing to do, more often than not I think gold hardware looks cheap and/or over the top, only on rare occasions it adds to a better looking instrument.

This is my only bass with gold hardware, when I started building this one the wood choice and combination was screaming 'go for gold'.

I think it worked out perfectly though I don't like gold hardware. :)

Excellent.

There's something about Warwicks. Every time I see one it makes me want to go home and play mine. No other basses do that to me to the same extent.
