That's been for sale at Rumble Seat's Ithaca NY shop for about 5 years or so. I inquired back then about taking offers and was told it was a consignment sale and the owner was firm on the $2800. It's been posted here at least once before. Not crazy about the gap between the body and neck. IMO the seller is at least $800. overpriced on this one.

I have a 1978 headstock serial date stamp in 9.9/10 condition 100% original clone of this bass will killer ash grain pattern. Pots are 1979 stamped. It's my collector piece I got from a lefty collector.

I am waiting until the economy comes back a little to sell. Some say if they are mint, they could possibly not be a good one of player. This is true in some instances but not mine. If this seller gets anything near $2800 for this, mine's going up next.

I'm not mr. vintage bass appraiser or anything, but I do notice a lot of older Fenders getting priced fairly optimistically.

Doesn't bother me a bit, though. I'll just keep buying G&Ls.

Yes, what Jersey said...

This has been for sale for years now. I think it used to be $3200... I might be wrong on that... but, yeah, it's a consignment deal and the owner thinks they're sitting on a goldmine.

Too many episodes of Antiques Roadshow, methinks.

Anyway, way back when it was first listed, I had a dialog going with these guys and they emailed me a ton of really good pictures... the neck joint is typical "bad" 70's job.

Big gap on the bass side and at least an 1/8" of overhang on the treble side.

If that bass for sells for anywhere close to that (I seriously doubt it), it's probably headed somewhere overseas.
