Killer deal if it's in good shape. I'd be all over it if I hadn't just snagged the Schecter. The Legend Classics have gone up in price over the past few years, and now are in the high $600's new:

These are VERY worthy if you mod them. Electronics are crap.

Needed:
EMG Pickups (DC35 Preferred)
Preamp (EMG BQC works great in these or Aguilar OBP)
Tuners (recommended)
The jack could be upgraded as well.

I modded a Legend 5 and its a great bass now. They also have thinner necks and different pickup placement than the EURO series.

Dang, I bought a bass yesterday or this would be a no brainer!! Been wanting to try one forever. Thats how it goes though. As stated above, these are spendy new and used ones do not really come up too often.

Guys - if you want this bass, you should buy it! With shipping, this bass is $280... that's "chump-change"... and this isn't a MIM.... it's a Spector! :)

Don't temp me. I've had a few beers and been on this thread all day lol.

Edit: ok reality, $279 + $300 in pups and preamp has me on the fence. Gravebass how bad are the electronics? I've only tried one unplugged in a GC. It was beat and $400 so I passed.

Done! I've been wanting one forever. This one seems in really good shape. Now I need to intercept TWO basses before my wife comes home. Be careful what I wish for. This place is evil and awesome at the same time!!

Nice one! I did the same interception thing recently... My Wife forgot to tell me she was grabbing dinner out, and so when she came home at 8:30, I ran out to "get a bite to eat" which translated as drive like a loony to get to GC before they close at 9pm and grab the new bass, followed by a McDonalds drive-thru on the way home... Then it sat in the car until the rest of the household was asleep...

Hope the plan comes together, and that the Spector is awesome!

@ donahue

First off, CONGRATS. Ping me offline and i'll run you thru the scoop of upgrades. Running off to play a gig soon but will get back with you when I can. These are good for the buck and you got a great price.

Body is alder with a thin quilt maple top. The bolt-ons get punchy too.

Congratulations! :) This Music Go Round location is only a few miles from my house. I was going to go check this bass out and report back to the forum today. I'm partial to 5-strings myself, but I hear these are solid instruments for the price. I had no idea this place was so close to my house until I saw this thread, I might be in trouble...

Thanks guys! I will give a full rundown on the bass when it shows up. I feel a little bad for buying two basses in a week but that price I couldn't pass up! As for the wives, we are with them for the rest of our lives, we can't play with other women, so we are at least gona play with other basses lol. They will never understand.

Hi guys, I received the bass but wanted to run through a couple rehearsals before giving my thoughts. This is quite the bass. It literally showed up in almost new condition. I've just found one ding behind the bridge. Frets are in as new condition! Bass balances nice has a great feel, neck is just right super comfortable. Somewhere between a P and a J neck. I think it even has new strings lol. First rehearsal I was playing with the preamp and wasn't digging it. I think it really lacks low mids (compared to my P, which is my standard of judgement). 2nd rehearsal I brought my DOD FX40B eq pedal and dialed up the 200, 400 and 800hz just a tad and it really came alive! Sat in the mix amazingly. My bandmates even commented on the difference. I play classic metal so low mids are my best friend. Really nice growl. Has fwik, the Spector sound. I think the stock pups are fine as well. My favorite setting is both bands of the preamp all the way down, both pickups on full and boosted mids on my eq pedal. I'm still getting used to the string spacing (compared to my P) but no biggie. Overall an amazing bass. Very happy with the purchase! We may have a Spector convert here in the making. Cheers guys
