Wow! Too bad I just got my new Mapleglo 4003, this sounds like a great bass. I like the looks of the old mapleglo finishes and a fan of the natural look and this one looks great.

I would definitely want to get that one in my sweaty little paws before I'd even think about buying it. '74 4001s, and any other years with the neck pick up in that position, are perfect candidates to have the negative neck angle problem. And it can be hard to see in photos, even if you're trying to get it to show up. I know; I have a late '73 4001 with a slight case of it. I never have been able to get a good picture of the problem. If you have it in your hands, though, and know what you're looking for, it's pretty easy to spot. It does look nice, but... a '74, with the Bathtub Rout up there just behind the fretboard? And just the one picture? I'd have to get my hands on it first... :)
