Some tempting stuff - specially with a pretty low Canadian dollar:

Whoo! I love me some Rickenbacker goodness!

I think that Thunderbird is listed on Arni's site. I meant to post that because I didn't know Gibson made the Thunderbird in lefty. I know Epiphone did (or perhaps still does). It seems like that would be a rare and highly-desired find.

This guy actually contacted me directly. I think he saw me on Arni's site and got in touch because I'm just 100km (63miles) down the road. I would honestly be interested in the either of the Gibsons but I still think he's being a little unrealistic concerning the value. Jimmy at Southpaw has two Les Pauls still - a black and a sunburst - and they are going for $1800 USD. (About $2400 CAD) I get that he says they are "new" but....

He seems like a really nice guy and he is totally legit. I just don't think he's what you'd call motivated to sell. The Gibsons and the Ric have been popping up here on Kijiji for the better part of a year if not longer. Yes, Gibson has stopped making lefty basses. (They seem to have stopped making basses at all for that matter......) But, this run was done just a couple of years ago and they do pop up from time to time. I have a hunch that at this point - now that the honeymoon has worn off for most people who bought one - we'll start seeing more pop up here and there. You know, the ol', "I love it but I just can't stand the neck dive/neck shape/pickup config/weight/whatever."

I even told the guy about this forum, but he never listed any here. Although I suspect it's because I mentioned that the prices were a little high. I mean $3500 for that Ric?! Even if it's CAD that's not right. We have a forum member here selling a nice blue one for $1750 USD and he even took some - IMO undeserved - heat for overpricing.

So yeah. I would be interested myself and take the drive up there if the prices were more like......
T-Bird $2400 CAD ($1800 USD)
LP $2200 CAD ($1650 USD)
Ric $2400 CAD ($1800 USD)

I do think he has the Stingray, Hohner and Hofner priced VERY well though. But remember, most of you will need to cross a border with these. AND having said that.....

I'm off doing some tour managing through the US midwest from March 27 - April 11. If anyone does want to make a deal with this guy I have no problem hooking up with the guy and either delivering it to you or posting it from that side of the border. Just a friendly lefty offer.

I can't remember exactly. But even if it's one of the cheaper ones, $600 CAD only comes to about $450 USD and I'd hope he'd maybe knock $50 off even if he is "firm". (It's a deal for Canadians at least....) #dollarsuckagewoes

Yeah that Höfner is probably a Contemporary at that price.
