The scale on this is 26.5". That is a no-go, for me. 27" is my absolute minimum for an 8-string guitar.

I am not sure why he paid $700 new when MSRP is only $619. Maybe they are phasing that model out and have lowered the price since he bought it. You can get it new right from the Schecter website for $439. For that kind of money I would lean toward an Ibanez RG8 to get the 27" scale. You'll need every bit of that to make the 8th string come through.

Oh! I am not knocking Schecter, by the way. I am kind of a Schecter fan-boy because not only do they make great stuff, especially for the dollar, but they are the most lefty-friendly guitar manufacturer.
