This is a rare situation where a seller actually has a product worth idle flattery.

When I get around to it, I may look in to a fair price for this bass and make him an offer, but I suspect it will be gone by then. :lol:

Damn. Those Sabres definitely had a cool factor that didn't quite make it into the L2K.

Matt: do I remember correctly that you made a little project out of restoring one of those?

Yep I bought one cheap, but the neck was trashed and I had it repaired. Turned out awesome.

These basses are killer for slap tones. The best Musicman had to offer, IMO.

I own a '80 one. It is interesting that you often hear about these having neck problems though. I'd say mine has issues as well, with a pretty severe dead spot on the E string at the 3rd fret.

Isn't that more of a resonance issue than a stability/warping issue? Have you tried weighting the headstock?
