If I owned a Alembic bass worth $4000 bucks, I would invest $20 into a bass stand (see the beating this took below just because they placed it on the ground)

I know what you mean, but, and maybe I am crazy, I am usually relieved in a way when I put the first ding in a bass. It means I can stop worrying about trying to avoid it.

It probably sold for at least twice that much when new... the Sharpie colored-in broken sections is a nice touch.... NOT!

If I was trying to SELL a bass worth four thousand bucks, the first photo would be straight on from the front.

Boy did I lose my shirt selling my Alembic. In the end not only did I have a ton of good photos but the buyer wanted sound clips as well ! I'm surprised they bought it after my hack job of playing. I don't miss it as it was a heavy beast and too much $$ to carry around.

I would want to hear (see/watch/touch/play*) a bass like that before buying.

*whatever is available
