After doing a bit of research I believe the model is XB75p.

$600 doesn't seem too bad and if this is your cup of tea, you should try $500...

It looks cool.... But it would be cooler with a full set of identical strings methinks...

Yeah, you are right, it looks as if it is missing a tooth :)

On the other hand, I know that when people do not do the effort it shows they do not care and it is generally a good occasion to buy at a bargain price.

Should be an LB75p, unless it's an extra long scale mode :)
Looks quite nice, but I have to agree on the missing string. I would never offer an instrument for sale like that!

That looks like an excellent bass for the money. Better built than most any Fender I have ever held before the electronics are a matter of taste though IMO.

I don't understand the concern with the missing string it should be the last concern. Questions like does the truss rod work? Do the tuners turn smoothly? I think are more important just saying... First thing I do when I buy a used or new bass no matter who it's from is rip the strings off clean everything and treat the fingerboard if it's not a maple board with a finish, polish the frets after checking if they need leveled and then lastly put strings on I like in the gauge I like. I guess that's why there are different strokes for different folks.

I hear ya.... It's not the actual strings I was looking for, as I too would pull them off, it's the whole presentation of the bass. To me it may indicate that there could well be other issues, like the trussrod perhaps, that have not been cared for as they should have. This is no worry to me if I'm grabbing a $100 beater, but for $600 it's a different ballgame.

My thoughts exactly. If a seller can't even bother to sell an instrument in playable condition with all strings in place, what else may have been neglected?
