I need another bass like a hole in the head, but these basses look gorgeous and sound great in YouTube demos. (Kinda reminds me of a poor man's Fodera meets Warwick). Very impressive specs: Nordstrand PUPs, Bubinga/Wenge neck, mahogany/Ovankol body, etc. Anybody have any experience with them?

Thumbslam had the 5 string version of this bass. Might want to ping him.

Yes I had one, the 5 strings I …think (?). Great bass, top-notch craft and hardware. Light and great sounding. I just had too many 5 strings. It's the only reason I sold it.

I think it is a great buy, very close to a "boutique" bass imho at a fraction of the price.

I'll be Negative Nancy.

I played one at NAMM two years ago... it was OK. A decent bass for the money, I suppose. I've never liked when lower cost basses have "veneer" tops on them to try and look fancy. I think a solid bodied bass would look way better, even if the wood wasn't interesting.

I also always feel like Wreck-It Ralph when I play a 5-string Ibanez... they're all so light and the bodies are so tiny... and I have these gigantic hands that are getting all gobbed up on these skinny little necks with this narrow string spacing.

But, I dunno... I'm really picky.

Didn't realize it was a veneer. I'm not seeing that in the specs, as it says Ovankol top. I wouldn't be considering a 5 string anyway, so the issue you mention wouldn't apply.

How else would you describe this top?

That top can't be more than a few millimeters thick, at the most.
