Wow. That neck looks horrendous and the frets are eaten alive.

Yeah, I sent that dude some hate mail about doing that.

FWIW, I scored a pristine '78 Jazz neck for$500 a couple years back....

Love the description regarding the "cosmetics"... I would say "attacked by a blind lunatic with a power tool and a manic grin" would perhaps be more appropriate.

I don't think that's a Fender body. And even if it was, I wouldn't want it.

On further inspection, I see it is a Fender body. What a shame.

I told him that it was wrong to take perfectly good lefty basses, which are hard for us to find, and part them out.
I don't have a problem parting out basses if there's a problem, say, with the neck, but he's just one of many
people doing it. He was like, "what's your problem dude?" and didn't understand why I was "attacking him."

One of my favorite basses are old Ibanez Roadstars - I have three or four - and there's a guy
out there that just rips them apart. You can tell because all of his photos are on a bluish background.

Geez, that thing's been mauled, mangled, manhandled, and butchered - what a piece of sh#t! If it IS a 70's body, it's a shame the way it's been treated.... :(

Well, it pisses me off to see a perfectly good bass parted out, too; but that poor thing kinda stretches the term "perfectly good" waayy out there. Even if I was in the market for something like that, $600 would have been as far as I'd have been willing to go, too. And, I'd have been praying that it didn't get that far. I hope whoever paid that much for it is happy with it; not my cuppa tea, though... :)
