The latest addition to the arsenal. A ruby red 4003. It's good to have another in my life. I had one a couple years ago but had to sell it for financial reasons. I'm pretty happy to have this one, it's such a good player.

Awesome! Reminds me of my '79 Burgundyglo. Now I don't feel so special. ;)

What year is it? Can't really tell from the pix. Is that Burgundyglo or Ruby?

Now just put a mudbucker in the neck position and a hot Duncan jazz bass pickup in the middle position and a guitar pickup in the bridge and you'll be set.

I'm not a fan of Ric guitars or basses in blue, nor a fan of Ric guitars in red. But the red on the bass really works eh? It looks great.

I see you wasted no time getting that wonderful pickup cover off  I have a treble bezel with a thumb rest on mine. It's great!

I'm getting the same treble bezel for mine too. I had a cove version, which was killer, on my last Ric. I think the deluxe will be way more comfy.

I just installed my treble bezel. I like this version way better than the "cove" model I had on my last Ric.

Yeah! I'd love some sound clips to hear what kind of sound you get out of it.

Also because my Rick is an '86, and I'm curious as to how much the sound has changed since then. I would imagine not much has changed, except for the re-implementation of the 0.0047ųf capacitor with the push/pull switch.

I got a new 4003 recently and they are great - I much prefer it to the 76 4001 I had years ago.
