Hi,
What tuner(s) would you guys recommend for doing intonation work when doing a setup? I have a Korg clip-on tuner, and it's just not cutting it.

Well if you want super accurate then there is always the strobe tuners like the Petersen units.

But I think most of the pedal types are good enough.

Korg - Pitch Black
Boss - TU-3
TC Electronic - Polytune

I'll probably get ridiculed for this, but in addition to a couple of the above mentioned tuners, I've even used a couple crappy iphone apps for dialing a bridge in with great success. Currently using one called Omni Tuner.

I've got a Samsung unfortunately ... any ideas on a useable Android app?

I use the tuner in my ZOOM B3 + headphones. I allows you to hear while you are tuning. It helps to actually hear the open/12th fretted note/12th fret chime as you fine adjust your intonation.

Peterson makes a strobe tuner app. It's very good.

What PJ said above. The Peterson app or StompClassic pedal is great and recommended.

Good luck!

I use a Peterson stomp for all my intonation work - if it's on with the Peterson, it's on
