I was thinking the same thing - we'd have to find a dealer willing to push for this tho - any ideas on that?

you can push Ric all you want, but nothing will happen. History has shown this time an again. They have their production schedules worked out and that's that.

I emailed Pick Of The Ricks about this and while all the walnuts are spoken for, they said they could order any finish in a lefty model.

"All current colors in lefty" is how they put it.

Hmmm... what attracted me to the walnut 4003 is the wood. I'm not really a solid colour kind of guy so ordering "any finish I want" doesn't really work. I want to at least see some grain. Walnut is also a very nice tone wood. Similar to maple but a bit warmer. So the walnut Rick has me jazzed... and while I've always wanted a Rick other basses have obviously been more important to me personally so far. Now, I see a rack of lefty Walnut Ricks and they're all gone?! Better not to have seen them.

Anyway, I digress, hands up here for anybody that would seriously be interested in getting one. Like the word I heard, if enough orders come in they'll do a production run of lefties.

Final note, if you can order "any finish" in lefty, and they have the wood, which obviously they do, why won't they just fulfill one order at a time for a lefty 4003W?

@ Matt: appreciate that... I think all my questions were really just rhetorical... it seems from all reports that Rickenbacker is pretty set in their ways.
