After abstaining from bass buying for over 3 years, I relapsed. Hard.

I walked into a brick and mortar (Starving Musician, Santa Clara, CA), not expecting much and found the only bass I was looking for - a fairly light, alder-bodied Fender American Standard Precision Bass made during the last 6 years. This one's a 2010 serial number with 2011 commemorative neck plate (probably made in 2010 and assembled early 2011). Three-piece alder, 8.5 lbs, sunburst. I can post pics but it's a sunburst P-bass.

Then I found something else there:

1977 Greco RB700. The neck is straight, the action is low, and the frets have a ton of life left on them. And it sounds amazing.

(tomorrow I go back to the 12-step meetings)

Congrats!!! Those Greco's can be awesome indeed. And IIRC there weren't a ton of lefty's made before the ever-vigilant Ric legal team shut down production.

Nice score Geoff! It might be the same guy unloading his basses through Starving Musician. I recently bought an amazing sounding Warmoth 5 string bass there. Gravesbass came to my place and tried it. It is yellow with a maple neck. I am totally stoked with it.

Gotta wonder how John Hall feels about an Ampeg artist pimping the Grecobacker:
