I finally got my Gigblade case!

This isn't so much a review as it is an initial report on the Gruvgear Gigblade gigbag and how it fits.

The answer is kind of complicated... here's the pics using each of my basses:

Fit for both my Zons, the Pedulla and the Precision would be what I would call PERFECT. You're able to adjust the movable cushions to go underneath the bottom of the bass to absorb any shock and the headstock easily fit. Also, you'll probably notice that both carrying handles are on the "upper horn" side with a lefty, which I find to be even better than how a righty would sit in the case.

Fit for my Fender Jazz basses was what I would call ACCEPTABLE. Because of the offset shape of the body, one of the lower cushions had to be moved in order for the bass to fit properly. Still... there is enough cushion in the case itself to stop any damage from a smaller drop. Amount of cushion is what you'll find in a Mono M80 bag.

Fit for my Lull M5V is what I would call BORDERLINE UNACCEPTABLE. As you can see, the body is a little squished in there, and the 35" scale length with the 4-in-line headstock make it a very tight fit. I would have no problems using this case if I had to because it will zip up, however, I would prefer to use my Mono M80 instead.

So... I'm happy with what I paid for it. I'll update the report once I've used it for a little bit.

Hope this helps anyone who might be thinking about buying one!

Tks for the update. From my vantage point it looked to me like the P bass was a little too snug at the tip of the headstock. Glad that's not the case (pun intended).
Are additional padding strips available should you want to cushion the top of the Zon headstocks?

I apparently won a GigBlade today at the GruvGear Europe Launch giveway  :D .
Hopefully my (lefty) Mayones Jabba 5 will fit in it, with its 34,25" scale length.

Congrats!

It will... it's not so much the scale length on a Jazz bass as it is the offset body makes it fit weird.

It's totally doable... just not perfect, the way some might want it to be.

Cool!

Just be careful with that bottom strap pin and not having any extra padding down there!

:)

My roommate purchased one during the initial campaign phase. It's a nice case - he's happy with it.
