Hi there.
I have a question for you.

I'm in the need of having two channels playing simultaneously. For a synth and a bass/guitar. I like the idea of just getting it all out of one amp, therefore I don't wish to use both my guitar combo AND my bass rig.
My thoughts are of getting a two channel preamp of some sort, but I can't find one which specifies that it can run the two channels simultaneously. What would you guys'n'girls do?

My guitar combo is an early ninety Fender Hot Rod Deville 212, any thoughts on if that can handle a bass guitar? I'm afraid of blowing it up, so I haven't tried :)

I would strongly suggest a mixer and use a bass amp, I would not suggest having a bass go through a Fender Guitar Amp, I know it all depends on volume you are playing at but again too much risk having a bass and another instrument in the Fender.

I have a Roland KC Amp that I use when I have multiple instrument gigs. The keyboard amp can handle the lows and has 4 inputs. If I am just playing bass then I always use my bass amp.

+1

Get a Keyboard amp. All the options you considered won't work. Especially if you plan on playing with a drummer at higher volumes. Bass and keyboard in one bass amp will sound like mud and playing keyboard or bass through a guitar amp will mess up the speakers. I tried all that years ago.
I also own a Roland KC. It is great and you can get them used for the price you were planning on spending on a preamp.

A mixer - of course, I'll try that. Tonight I can pick-up an old Focus mixer for free. I'll try and see if that would work.
Hope it doesn't gets to muddy sounding through my bass amp.

Thank for the replies. I appreciate them..

I believe Raven Labs used to make a box that could do this. I'm sure JohnK on Talkbass could build you a box for this function too.
