WTF is up with TalkBass? I know they've upgraded the site, but all I get are malformed pages when accessing the site with either IE8, 9, 10 or Chrome. Anyone else experiencing heartburn?

In my experience, heartburn is usually a sign that shitheap of a message board is functioning properly.
But I've had no problems using safari. They've made it where you can 'like' posts a la Facebook. Odd.

uinfortunately, I can't use Firefox or Safari (no Macs allowed!) at work. We just got the blessing to use Chrome here. I'll try those out when I get home tonight.

Oh it also works on safari on iOS, and is supposed to work on other mobile browsers right now (the app is down).

It has worked fine for me since I logged on to the new site for the first time yesterday. Using Chrome. They fixed the issue where no one could post links, too, thank God.

Personally I am a big fan of any general statement threads such as "... suck". By the way Matt, I was sad to hear you got your 1974 Jazz Bass fixed at the wrong place.

Dude, there's ALWAYS a hater. But in all my years of knowing about Glaser, that's literally the first critical thing I've heard about them. So I like my odds ;)

It's working from home on IE 10 and Chrome. Not seeing it at work might have something to do with our wunnerful corporate filters. I really shouldn't be spending my day on TB, but it's been kinda slow lately ...

Working on Firefox. Just an annoying layout.

I'm hating the new layout as well, but I don't spend much time on TB anyway. It's gotten really pointless for me in the last couple of years. . . too many teenagers asking the same questions over and over: "Ibby vs. Yammie;" "Should I get a Precision or a Jazz;" "What's the best bass for metal?;" and sentences like: "I've been lusting after an SX for over a year. My parents tell me they will buy me one this summer. Which model should a get? Slipknot is my favorite band!"

Okay, maybe I'm just old and grumpy. . . :x But let's say I haven't encountered a valuable conversation there in quite some time.

Yep, I feel much the same. TB has pretty much run its course with me and the new format is unappealing to me too. I drop in and skim a page or two and that's about it.

>>>for real<<<

I stopped paying their fee 2 years ago and could care less. I also don't need to see the same rehashed b.s. week after week. They should have just erased everything from 2013 back and started fresh. Naw, too important to see 15 year old info from people who no longer exist with gear so old that it was buried in the coffins with them.

the last time I bashed TB here badly someone reported me...well if it happens again because of this post and I'm banned..oh well. FB has better bass clubs now :P ( at least if some nit-wit says some dumb stuff and a fight thread starts, the admins just delete it, not "lock it" for the next generation of users to look at to laugh at someones foolishness that occurred 9 years ago )

and yes, I HATE the posts where someone says "I am 50 years old and nobody sells lefty guitars and basses, what are my choices for a used Fender?" ( then the normal person says) "look at the TB classifieds, plenty in there" <<< oh really, since when?

And what came of you being reported? If you're implying there can be consequences to bashing TB here, you're mistaken.
I use TB as needed and don't have any personal beef with the site, though I do dislike the new look/function. But I'm also not a TB defender.
They're a business and the powers the be there have not extended any of the bass forum community support other sites like Badassbass and BassOutpost have given us, so I don't care if anyone has a negative opinion about TB. Just express it respectfully to everyone here and your opinion is yours to share.

And by all means if you're getting more out of FB clubs enjoy yourself there.

ya Andrew, they never told me who said I was bashing ( I didn't think they would ), but they are so nervous about what people think it even used to say it in their TOS. ( they changed the rules and it is now gone ). I knew it was not someone here, but a lurker who just hates me probably. That seems like last week but was quite a while ago if you remember.

And absolutely, just like many in our minority group here, I had enough of the b.s. from those people over there to tell me it is no longer worth visiting multiple times a day anymore unless I need some entertaining RIGHTY laughs...

Wait, you bashed TB on HERE and were reported for it over THERE?

I thought you meant you were reported here for bashing TB on here. Which to be clear, would carry no consequences.

For TB mods to be monitoring their member's words on other boards is a bit nuts.
