yep - just timing in getting everything together to take the next step forward. and while not a 6-string lefty or bass, it is available lefty. look for the first lefty unit later this year

Image

1-piece Swamp Ash body
1-piece Maple neck with vintage '53 V-shaped rear contour
Nordstrand pickups
Hipshot hardware

this will be available for test driving at the NAMM show later this month

if there is decent feedback at the show, look to see the Regenerate guitar line expand into models - this one based on a Tele, another based on a Strat, and a third that's my own body shape design

all the best,

R

special introductory NAMM pricing is very competitive with the Fender American Tele, and significantly below what GC is selling Custom Shop units for

a PM was sent your way with specific info

all the best,

right!

completed this one earlier this evening. still need to give it a couple set-up kisses, but it's 99% there as I type

Image

fingers crossed that this is a hit at the NAMM show, and that I get at least a couple orders for these so I can justify the R&D/set-up costs to get this new thin string line rolling

all the best,

R

Are guitars allowed here?

Any plans to do a 6 string bass or, better yet, a Fender Bass VI style design, Rod?

my 6-string single-cut has been prototyped for a while now, but the bolt-on neck contour is too complex near the body join to easily replicate by hand in a timeframe that's cost effective for production units. enter the CNC, and the game is now changed 8-)

I've been too swamped getting the new painted body model ready for production in time for NAMM to also add this single-cut model into the mix. once I've had a post NAMM breather, I'll begin reworking the single-cut in CAD and adapting it to be cut on the CNC allowing me to keep the final detailing to hand work. I'll be introducing this in 5 and 6-string versions available in both righty and lefty

no plans at this time for a bass VI type design for production. once the single-cuts are released and I see what kind of response the guitars are getting, I'll have a better viewpoint into how much available time I'll have for total custom builds

all the best,

R

post NAMM updates:

- this Regenerator GT™ guitar sold the early second day of the show for full asking price. I could easily have sold it on the spot an additional five times if not more. I have several of these (including a lefty or two) beginning construction with an early summer completion target. I'll also be introducting a cousin to the Regenerator GT™ ... the Regenerator SS™ which will be based off of a certain early 60's body design loaded with S/S/S pickups. the Regenerator SS™ will be available in both hardtail and tremelo versions.

- there was not an overwhelming embrace to the 6-string single-cut model in my many NAMM discussions. given the response to my new guitar line, I'll be working the single-cut as I can fit it in around Regenerator GT™ and Regenerator SS™ production. the impression I got when discussing this with people was more of a 'so what, every custom bass builder has a single cut these days' combined with some confusion as to how it connected to my overall design philosophy evidenced with the models I had on display

- there was, however, significant enthusiasm for a 6-string 30" barritone guitar model to compliment the Regenerator GT™ and Regenerator SS™ models. funny how plans change, eh? due to this peaked interest I'm going to begin working the CAD designs for this barritone model in early Feb and hope to have at least the first prototype in the rough by the end of June

all the best,

R

ooooohhhh, a baritone!

 My only request is that it totally and completly cops the tone from the solo in 'Witchta Lineman'

My only request is that it be a true E-E 6-string bass, not a baritone.

'thin strings' continue to grow in the percentage of what's being built. here's the latest one shipped out

there's a new model working it's way thru the prototyping process. here's a peek at the initial CNC tool path validation simulation. (click the image to run the video) total cutting time is roughly 90 minutes including cutter changes and depth calibrations, and there's at least that much rasp and sandpaper time once the CNC cuts are done

a sneak peek at the new model just before it shipped off to the paint shop for a "Gibby dark red stain" finish with black headstock face

controls are Vol and a 5-way selector switch mounted on a B/W/B pickguard

pickups will be a set of Lollars - http://www.lollarguitars.com/mm5/mercha ... er-pickups

that's a Babicz Full Contact Hardware 2-point trem

all the best,

R

With body outline mods to accommodate a wider neck pocket, sure.

One of our RGW artists has a new sig model in the works that is essentially a Strat body with a 34" P width neck. There is just enough room in the Strat outline to make this work when accompanied by a subtle tweak to the neck heel, and a reworking of the neck pocket and surrounding cutaways. It's not going to be the roomiest lower cutaway ever designed, but he wanted a pretty faithful Strat outline.

The bigger question is whether you're thinking 32" or 30" scale

all the best,

R

Giving up on trying to capture an image with wood figuring and richness of color even close to the dark red stain in real life :(

this one just started assembly and set-up in prep for NAMM

though I won't have any available at the show or kept in built and ready inventory, this model will be available as a lefty via dealer and/or direct order

all the best,

R
