I feel badly posting this considering the ordeal that Chris is currently going through. For this I am sorry Chris!
After NAMM, I began talking with Rob Elrick about a new bass with specs that I wanted from one of his basses. If you know Rob, than you know he has one of the traits that I feel is important to some of the best builders. That trait is anal retentiveness or OCD, which ever one you wish to call it. For those who know any of the builders out there, I am sure you know what I mean. If he ever reads this, I really do mean this in a very good way. If any of you attend the up coming Winter NAMM show, please stop by the booth and try her out! She will be there weather I am or not.
He was kind enough to send me pictures as the build progressed but asked that I not post them. He has now posted pictures on his Facebook page so all bets are off! Basically, I wanted a Walnut top, Birdseye fret board and nickel hardware, the rest I left up to him. The plus is the block inlay which is new to his basses this year.
Please enjoy the pictures, I should have the bass around Wednesday!

Beautiful! Congrats. The blocks are especially nice. That's one thing I wish my bass had.

Beautiful bass, Congratsamundo!

I have always liked the look of Elrick basses and really admired the craftmanship of the few I have handled. Hope it serves you very well indeed sir. 8-)

Thanks man! I'll be in touch about what you just sent to me, we'll figure it out!

The bass is awesome! It plays and sounds fantastic!
I told myself just one this year, but broke my own rule already! Here are the three that I picked up so far! 1974 Hofner, 2013 Fender P, and my Elrick!

Enjoy!

Bill

It looks fantastic! I was not familiar with this maker but the design is really classy.
