Ok, I once said that I would NEVER sell this bass... and, to be honest, the thought of doing that right now is making me a little sick to my stomach.
BUT...
You should never say never, I guess... a personal reason, along with a couple of other of life's random occurrences has lead me to make a couple of major changes. So, there you go... my baby is up for sale.
I'm putting it out there as a feeler right now because I might not be ready to ship it for a few weeks and wanted get the ball rolling on the sale early. Also... if something changes suddenly between now and then, I might pull the sale. If someone wants this bass, they would have to be understanding about both of those caveats and not hold either of those things against me.
I have nothing bad to say about this bass... It sets up ridiculously well, sounds phenomenal and is a straight up pleasure to play.
Here are the details:
• Official color is Olympic White... kind of looks arctic white in pics, but has more of the yellowish tint in person.
• Ash body with maple neck and birdseye maple fingerboard
• 18mm spacing, 35" scale
• Weight is exactly 9.68 lbs
• Nordy 2-band preamp
• Controls are Vol, Vol, Passive Tone, Bass/Treble Stack (cut/boost), and active passive switch.
• Comes with BOTH Mike Lull designed Seymour Duncan single coils AND their linear HB's. I found NO sonic difference, so I have the linear HB's installed as they are DEAD quiet and have staggered pole pieces. If you want the full single coil thang, you can install those instead.
• Hipshot Bridge and UltraLight tuners
• You can string the B string through the body, although I found no discernible difference doing it that way.
• Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks
• B/W/B
and Tortoise Shell guards are both included... tortoise is installed.
• Neck pickup cover is installed
• Comes with deluxe hardshell G&G case... PIMP!!!
• I have only used nickel strings on this bass and the frets are in fantastic shape.
• There is some "thumbnail wear" where I rest my thumb and some swirling and other wear on the back of the bass from regular gigging and playing. There are also a couple of small paint chips (see pic) and a couple of other VERY minor dings... but, overall, the bass is in great shape, as you can see from the pictures.
Mike Lull has significantly bumped his prices up the last few years... so this bass would be something like $3800 new, with the 15% lefty fee, case, extra pickguard and pickups.
You can take mine for HALF of that.
