So I got together with forum member Ziggyb from Boynton Beach and we got to play each other's basses and compare. Can't complain! We both have very nice small collections right now.
From left to right:
-My 1982 Jazz Bass. Queen of the jungle.
-My 1973 P-Bass. King of the jungle.
-Ziggy's new Scomel 5-string Jazz. This is from a small luthier in N.C. Great bass. A little rough around the edges, but the shape is very comfy, and the neck shape was nice too. Sounded like a good J-Bass. 34" and good B-String. 18 mm string spacing, very light. I want one!
-Ziggy's "Z" bass. Made from parts, Fender Custom Shop pickups, Aguilar 3-band preamp. Very solid-sounding bass, like a good, modern J bass.
-My brand-new SR5. Weighs around 8.5 lb! What else can I say? Love this bass.
-My Sadowsky 5-24.
-My Rob Allen MB-2. This might be for sale soon.
-Ziggy's custom-ordered Stealth Bongo. Look at that thing! Plays and sounds great. The Stealth treatment really looks amazing in person. This one is light, too, just around 9 lb.
