 Post subject: Lefty Brice LP bass arrived a few days ago.

Totally love it, Just gotta get used to weight and short scale. I may use it to record a few songs that require a vintage sound. Link to crappy cell phone pic on TB, below.

I defretted a Brice B&B 5-string, filled the slots with Wenge veneer, stripped the neck and refinished it with TruOil, and then epoxied the fingerboard for a client some time back. He also had me swap out the bridge for a Hipshot Vintage bent plate and replace the tuners with Ultralights.

Short of the story ... he shortly thereafter sold his Zon and another fretless I can't remember the brand of because all of the engineers he records for here in Seattle demanded the return of the Brice (but they didn't know what it was since it had no headstock decal :lol: )

with a little loving and elbow grease, a Brice can become a really great instrument that rivals much of the current Fender production line - if you start with one of the good ones
