Awesome! It is great to see my old bass in the hands of such a talented young player.

I have that same bass as well (a 2005 version), and I can't make it sound like that. Well done. If anyone wants to find me I'll either be working or shedding for the next five years in an attempt to catch up! 8-)

I don't know if Belinmad or PT changed anything on it but it had Lindy Frailins and it is wired passive VVT. I am not such a fan of active basses. It sounds much more like a vintage Jazz.

it looks like Jr is getting taller compared to his stuff 2 years ago using the 34" basses.
He is a great and perfect example of why I have to laugh at the TB'ers who start a million threads and say "I'm short, I have small hands, I can't play a 34 I can't reach the frets, it is too big/tall/long....whatever.

I can see him buying mom and dad a retirement home in 20-30 years with his talent.

Frenchy its the same way you sold it to Belinmad and PT has not changed a thing, he had me put the Frailins in one of his p-basses along with a hipshot bridge. With all the basses he owns this Jazz Deluxe has been his go to bass.

It makes me very happy!

FYI: I tried 5 different sets of pickups before settling for the Lindys. They were the fattest but still keeping a real warm vintage tone and a good amount of growl (which was lacking big time with the original Fender Noiseless).

Absolutely! Lest we forget this salient point, refer to this video of a young African-American boy playing a 34"-scale 6-string no less, and killing it! I know some of you have seen this video before... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M72xJDS8ZrM

I'll say it again and again, it may "look" stupid ( out of proportion ) with him using a full sized bass, but from what Paul SR told me he does not care, he does not cry about "daddy I can't reach", and should ( like others ) be an inspiration to all the whiny TB'ers who constant say they can't play a fullsized bass ( and those are adults )

I would create a post over there about it, "To all the TB'ers who think a short guy with small hands cannot handle a 34" bass/look at this kid and check out his videos", but they would not see my humor and think it is a troll thread and I would probably get an infraction for it :(

we have a local kid here in Pittsburgh, probably started at 3-4 years old and is like 6-7 now.
He's a drummer, but since we are praising kids here, check him out. His name is Avery Molek.

I just hope Paul, and the many others in the years to come, get to be famous and will have many years of "being in the spotlight" :)

The drummer is amazing! :D

The opportunities the kids have today are far more than when I was a kid and I'm sure it the same for most of you.

Side note: Most of the pictures you see of the kids bands and the places you see Paul playing are benefits for cancer, cystic fibrosis and others, the boy propped on the stool in picture is in a hospital recovering from a pancreases transplant ( removal of you pancreases, ducts cleaned and replaced) he suffers from cystic fibrosis. These kids put there talent to good use by giving back to any charity asks them or they find a cause raise money and give it to that organization. We also provide sound systems, lighting and back lines for many events, super storm Sandy did a lot of damage to the area we live in and these kids have offered there help in performing, clean ups. I just thought this had to be said, I'm bragging for the kids not just Paul for the good they do. I attached a picture of Jon who is recovering in the University of Minnesota hospital. As always thanks for all your support and encouragement of musicians and rest assure the future of music is in good hands!
