Love the Sterling Dargie Delight! Great colour, and the fingerboard inlays are a nice touch.

It will grow for sure, I've got a Sterling with the BFR solid rosewood neck on order.

No.

I've started lobbying hard for a lefty Big Al though. We are such a small piece of the pie, but I ain't giving up, I want all EBMM products to have a left hand option! :mrgreen:

I have a standing offer for 5 grand for the Dargie and I won't take it, it's the best EBMM I own, but they all are good.

Do you think Sterling would be receptive to doing a small run of Stingray or Sterling HH basses if we could drum up the orders for them?

Which is the big Al? Is that the bass with the 3 single coils? I'm interested in that bass. Funny enough, I discussed having a 3 single coil bass made with Mike Kinal in 2007, and now someone is making a production model bass with that configuration, so I'm looking forward to hearing if I would've been stoked on the cxonfig or not in the Kinal bass.

Andrew I've talked to Sterling Ball many times about this and I keep getting the small pie speech. I hoped that during the building of the custom one offs they did for me would lead to a factory option for us all. Their CNC has the program for the wood work it's the preamp that's the hold up. It's made to fit their right hand electronics package cavity. Producing the preamp to fit the left hand cavity must be too expensive.

My 20th Anniversary SR5 had a hand fit cavity and the Dargie had a hand made preamp. My 20th took a year to build and was referred to as the "solid gold lefty" since their chief designer Dudley Gimple built it. His time is very expensive.

The biggest issue is that Sterling is left handed himself and as he likes to tell me "I'm left handed too, but smart enough to play righty". I have a good relationship with him but I have to be very careful not to piss him off. He has more than hinted that there will be no more custom basses for me. I will keep trying though.
