Maybe it's a silly question, but is it well balanced?
Congrats anyway, it looks killer :)

Very nice! I didn't realize these were long scale. How's it compare to the righty? The bridge PUPs must obviously sound different.

If it were mine I'd switch out the black speed knobs for the gold top hats. Love the look on the righty, though they kind of mirror the yellower binding.

I think I'd also change the controls to two volumes and no tone. I think I'd prefer being able to add just a little of the neck pickup to the bridge one instead of it always being all or nothing.

If I get one of these that's how I'll set it up.

Thought after one week.
This one's a keeper. It is beautiful. Neck p/u has great low-end, not in the league of a 60s mudbucker but still very impressive. Both p/us on and tone maxxed is my fave setting. Bridge p/u alone is a very usuable sound. The binding looks bright white in most pics but is actually a creme color. Neck is slightly wider than my SG, with less taper. It's more of a solid-body than a semi- but really a totally new type bass. I'm so happy I took the dive without ever playing one, or even seeing one in-person. My new SG is gonna get jealous. A very nice bass. Case is sweet!

I am considering getting one of those. Austin-lefty Bass, If I recall you also owned an Eastwood Classic 4. How different is the Midtown?

That's a compare/contrast I'd like to hear too.

I play in one band that I think this bass would be ideal for.

Bear in mind I use the Eastwood in my Byrds tribute band so its got flats, and the Midtown is for originals and has rounds on.

The Eastwood is a typical semi; 30" scale, funky bridge, etc. Typical short-scale semi-hollow tones. Its a nice bass and the price is right. If you're looking for old-school semi- bass tone this will do it.

The Midtown is a whole other animal; 34" scale and good bridge. It is much more a solid-body in feel. Its a mahogany slab thats been routed and then a maple top added. Mahogany neck, rosewood board. It has a very lively tone with plenty of low-end. Costs twice as much as the Eastwood. Very nice case included.

Hope this helps.

Really interesting! This bass seem to have its own voice which is cool when everyone seem to play the same instruments all the time. I must say it looks awesome on your pictures.
