The bridge and electronics ARE in lefty positions (with no obvious signs of them having been moved), but the body is right handed. Is it possible this IS Framus' lefty version of this instrument?

I've seen that listed for awhile now. Probably some sort of special order. Seems that Framus and Hofner, to name two during that era, did not always go out of their way to build "correct" left handed versions, but could apparently on occasion be pursuaded to adapt right handed instruments and/ or components to accomodate lefties (for example I have a factory original lefty Hofner 182 solid body bass (see pic in the "show your Hofners" thread) that has a right handed neck with the logo reversed, on a lefty body.

I'd have to go back and research some of my old Framus catalogs, but I'm pretty sure Framus was offering similar double cutaway hollow body bass models about this time, so what confounds me is that (assuming they had a choice) why a lefty player would have wanted the single cutaway body style converted, unless there was something awfully special about this model? I'm not particularly adverse to playing righty basses upside down except when it comes to single cutaway bodies. IMO what you end up with in this case is reduced practical appeal to either left or right handed players other than the oddity factor.
