1979 Lefty P Bass at Elderly Instruments. Looks like it's in great shape. $1750. Little too heavy for me (10+ lbs. ) but if you like 'em hefty could be a good buy.

Weight of a bass is very subjective and one of many factors contributing to tone. Both my 1960 P basses weighed well under 9 lbs and were tone monsters. To me a bass weighing in at almost 11 lbs becomes an issue when you're playing 5 set bar gigs. Balance is also real important. I ve owned < 8 lb basses that were weak and sounded crap. For me medium weight (9 lbs) and well balanced basses seem to work best. Just my 2 pennies. If you like em heavy go for it.
