 Post subject: Questions for stringing a lefty bass like a righty.

On a typical J or P, what are the issues besides the nut for stringing a lefty bass righty style. (like the picture at the top of this forum page)

What about the bridge, tuning gears and the "tree" ( Not sure what the name for it is, the button-like knob on the headstock that normally the D and G string slip under). Do they need to be changed?

What else has to be done to accommodate the different strings when they are going on a lefty that is to be strung "righty" ?

what kind of bridge are you using?

for most bridges, it's as simple as adjusting your intonation. for some bridges (those with an angled saddle, or ones that are custom slotted like a Leo Quan BAII) you may have more work to do

for pickups, it's probably best to readjust the height to match

string retainers and tuning keys are generally just fine
