Got a stupid noob question for anyone that can help me.

Finally got my lefty Ibanez that I ordered back in July. This is my first-ever bass and likely to be my baby just for that sentimental reason alone. My family got me a tuner for my birthday, the day before I picked up my bass. The manual is fairly straightforward and easy to follow but the one question it doesn't answer is this:

What are the baseline settings a tuner should be at to be most effective and accurate? If it helps, or makes a difference, we're looking at a Korg TM-40 with adjustable tuning from 410 to 480mHz and a full octave range from C(prolly just below middle C) to middle C, I haven't checked it against a piano.

I've been fiddling with it a bit, but I'm really not sure what I'm doing.

Midnight

I'm not familiar with your tuner, but standard tuning is 440mhz.

440 is the standard. Chances are, you won't need concern yourself with the others.

The guitars and bass(es) in a band should be tuned using the same reference pitch, because the instruments will sound "out of tune" with each other if they're not. In most cases, it'll be 440 simply because it's the standard.

So, I assume that I can leave the default key setting at C and the tuner will do it's work according to whichever string is being tuned, yes?
