Techy style thoughts from a NON-engineer
but just wondering why most amp makers don't/won't make their heads & combos user switchable between 100~240v? I've got a lo tech, $20 portable electric shaver that can auto detect the voltage, why can't my hi tech, $1000 amp head?
Some makers do & it's as simple as flicking a rocker switch or even just doing nothing!
While we're on it, why don't 99% of cabs have an ohmage switch? Again, some do but is it really that difficult? Wouldn't it make it easier on the companies to have just one set of guts for their amps & cabs? It would allow more versatility with rigs & enable the most efficient usage of your gear. Any explanations would be welcomed.
End of transmission.
