I'm very tempted to pick one of these. Anyone have any experience with them?

Tried one at NAMM and pretty much hated it. Very thin and buzzy sounding. I think if you're looking for a portable bass your better off getting a Steinberger Spirit or Hohner headless. (Or maybe even a U-Bass).

+1 for the U-Bass. I've been playing mine for several months now, from Hawaiian, to Surf, to Blues and Rock, and it handles most genres quite nicely. Plus, for practicing, (even low volume practice with an acoustic guitar player) it is loud enough to be heard without an amp, although I often plug it into my little Roland battery-powered Micro Cube. sounds great, and is quite an attention getter at gigs. Almost don't want to take my regular basses to my gigs anymore.... :)
