$6500 from the Guitar Broker in Fort Lauderdale. If this is the real deal I'm not even sure what its fair market value should be.

Way overpriced (though that's par for the course with Guitar Broker). I've seen lefty 60's Hofners go in the $3000-4000 range.

The owner of Guitar Showcase San Jose (who is one of the largest guitar collector in the US) had the same one from 1964. It was in display at the store amongst many other vintage instruments, I asked him how much he would sell it for (and this guys really does not give a damn about selling his collection) he said "I'll consider an offer for $4,000". Which means, it is the highest amount of money a collector would try to get for it. It was before the financial crisis.
So 3,000 to 4,000 is a correct ball-park.

Ooooooooooh ........thats loadsa money ! ..... over £4100 sterling. What intrigues me is that Guitar Broker points out that the pickguard is 'missing as usual' but fails to mention that the body has not been drilled to accept a guard . A very important point on a vintage instrument being sold by self proclaimed 'experts' in the type. The description goes on to describe 'bound neck' .......duh ? . It's certainly a very nice hofner but I'm not so sure that the seller has done enough to convince any potential buyer that this is worth considering at $6500.
