I have the same condescending feeling toward people dropping EMG pickups in a P-bass and toward people who mix orange juice with an expensive French Champagne to make a "mimosa"...

I get that same feeling not from the EMG, but from the WTH is up with that string spacing....

It's not the string spacing. The string is not seated in the saddle. I wonder why he'd photograph it like that :|

This one looks a little suspect to me, and a bit over-priced. I think I'd pass just based on having to swap the pickups out, and any other possible repairs needed.
Plus theres a 78 on the bay right now that looks nicer...

The EMG's appear to have been mounted upside-down, so maybe he had it strung reversed. The pick guard is unoriginal, those came with a single ply white guard.

eh??!!???? Mimosas are the best cure for a Saturday night hangover at a Sunday brunch.

Yes, no objection if it is with cheap sparkling wine not with a $50 bottle of Veuve Cliquot like I've seen people doing.

Veuve Cliquot is far away to be the best, but still, don't mix it up !
I recently tried a 83' fender precision, with flat. Very nice sound, so precision like, but the bass was so so heavy ! Back breaking bass !


Guys, do the 80's fender bass start to be collectible in North America ?

Am i wrong or 80s Precision were made with the chunky neck profile ? (44 / 45 mm wide at the nut)

Yes, a fat C neck profile. I didn't think I'd like it being a J player most of my adult life, but I got used to it and find it very comfortable now. It helps keep bad habits in check (i.e. wrapping my thumb over the top of the fretboard).

absoluty. My 1980 3TS Pbass had a neck that felt - and looked - like the large end of a baseball bat. I had to sell it eventually because I could not handle the neck profile.

i have not seen any real evidence of that, but no doubt as the price of 70's instuments continues to increase people who want 30 year old instruments will turn to the 80's stuff. Might be a good time to stockpile them while they are still affordable ;)
