Howdy gang,

I just got some pictures in of my brand new Atkinson P Bass! She'll soon be mine, but until then these beautiful photos will have to suffice. Dan Atkinson is a custom builder and his work is just phenomenal. The only thing Dan needs to do is add the tugbar (60's position under the G string).

Dan Atkinson's a parts builder similar to Nash. He typically does the finishes, fretwork, assembly, and relicing but he is branching out with the Evoke series to include things like custom pickup routing. He usually uses Allparts for his "retro" basses, but for mine he went thru USACG (the headstock shape should be a dead giveaway). The quality of his instruments is top-notch, and his prices are basically barely above cost. Mine was $1,140 shipped. Here are the specs:

-USACG alder body
-USACG maple/rosewood neck
-Vintage-style Fender bridge
-Fender Original Vintage '62 pups
-Orange Drop Caps
-Switchcraft Jack
-nitro finish
-vintage-style tuning keys (I'm not sure which brand they are, lately he's been using Hipshot Ultralites but I don't know for sure what mine are)
-vintage-size frets (can't remember the specific size, but I know they are smaller)

I should be getting the bass on Thursday. When it comes I'll post some more pics and a review.

When I read the thread title, the first thing that came to my mind was this guy:

So seeing those pics was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful bass! I'm not a sunbust guy, but this one was done very properly. Nice!
