Hey guys I'm keeping track of the steps in a build I'm doing. If you have a high threshold for boredom, check out my blog for updates.

Nice!!.... Jealous on two counts - 1. Nice P-bass in your future... 2. You have the skills to put together said nice P-bass. Good job.

It's a plastic neckplate cushion.

As we all know, the eyes are the first thing to go ...
For the life of me, i can't see where the finish chip was in your original blog post. Can you point out where it was for us visually impared lefty bassists?

In the post "PBass Build Pt 3" look at the headstock pic. There's an outline of a large chip between the G and D string tuner bushings. You can see the chip line going through the top of the 'F' in the Fender decal.

Matt that is such a gorgeous bass I think I could EAT it, lol!

I haven't gone through all your blog posts, but the neck, did you salvage that from an older Fender?

I bought that neck from a board member here. It's a 2008 Precision neck

Ooh boy that is sweet. I'm putting together the funds for a P-Bass build from Atkinson Basses, and I'm looking at different pickups. Those Seymour Duncans look pretty promising. Would you recommend them over, say, the Fender '62s or Nordstrands?

Never played a Nordstrand. I have played the Fender pickup, but it's been years. I don't remember why I didn't like the Fender 62, but I do remember it was a good pickup. I think i just wasn't knocked out by it. The Seymour is cheap and sounds amazing. I generally gravitate toward Seymours anyway. I've always been happy with their stuff.
