Hello again.
Ronn from Austin.
My band just won Best Cover Band(for the 6th time) last night at the Austin Music Awards.

Ha, I was just looking at my avatar, can you tell which shoulder my bass hangs from? ;)

Hello all, I'm a new face, a bass player from my ChurchBass list (http://churchbass.org/)posted about this list so I thought I'd pop over. Bass is my primary instrument, with a few others here and there. I mainly play on the Praise and Worship teams at my church (http://www.lwfonline.org) although apart from that I work on everything from electronic music (http://www.thecellexperiment.com) to alt.country. Good to be here!

-Chris

Hey Carlos, Ronn and Andre, glad to see you guys here too!

Ronn, congratulations on the Austin Music Award win, that's pretty cool. You should fill us in on your most recent bass aquisitions here too.

Chris, I'm stoked to have a new face join us already, so welcome!

Thanks! Got to hang out with an old friend, bassist Gene Kurtz. He wrote Treat Her Right, a big hit for Roy Head(who performed the song last night w/Gene on bass) in the Sixties.

...sorry, just being enthusiastic.

I'm also checking in. If you're from TalkBass, you know exactly who I am. ;)

Hi Marc,
Glad to see you here. That sounds foreboding, should I expect problems with the ISP host?

Greetings! I'll be the resident "lurker" here, I don't spend much time on boards anymore, but you never know. This place could rekindle my passion. :P

I'm the same "teedub" from TB, FWIW.

hey y'all

greeting from the upper left corner :)

many probably know me from TB and the multiple versions of the Pit. while I'm not a lefty player, I do have a keen interest in building basses in two distinct areas

- for those who are looking for a subtle twist to a classic instrument

- for those who are looking for a totally custom instrument

a result of this is that I have a keen interest in both lefty basses, and also scaling a classic bass to suit the playing needs of smaller (most commonly women) players. unfortunately I'm in the middle of a relocation from Seattle to Charlotte, so my building/customizing capability is limited for the time being

all the best,

R
