My first post!

Here are a few of my amps that I really like.
This is a 1966 Ampeg B-18-N all original (tubes and all!) except for the speaker was reconed by Jess Oliver. Not loud enough for most gigs but it has "The" tone!
Image

This is a reissue Ampeg B15R with the very hard to find B15E extension cabinet. I just got this one back from the shop, I have a great amp guy and he souped this one up, it just kills!

Image

A group shot of the obligatory Ampeg SVT-CL/810E, Ashdown ABM 500 C210/ABM410, Bose PAS, the B15R stack and a couple of my keyboard amps.
Image

An attempt to recreate the 66 B-18-N in a more powerful configuration, Crown XTi 2000, Demeter 201s and a SWR Big Ben 18’’. It sounds pretty good and it is loud but it ain’t close to the Ampeg in the tone department.
Image

This is the rig I actually use the most, a MarkBass LMII and a Bergantino HT112 or two.

nice B-18N :o

I missed one by mere minutes once, and have long ago come to the conclusion that my '67 B-15N will be the fliptop I settle with

all the best,

R

Hey Chuck, great to see you here. I put up a post in the Leftorium asking if anyone knew how to get a hold of you.

 That's a serious amp collection! Nice!

Thanks man, it's been coming together slowly but decently I think. We'll never be able to keep up with the big boards, but it's nice having a place where you won't get lost in the shuffle for being a southpaw. :)

Hope to see you here often. If you get a chance please post some of your bass pics in the gallery. I just got a Lakland JO bass that looks just like yours.

BTW, did the MM LE2008 Rootbeer Sparkle ever get figured out for the lefty guys? Is it happening with chrome hardware or not at all?

Yeah BP said he'll do them for us, but with chrome hardware and the standard case. I can't decide if I want one or not, heck I've got 8 Balls as it is.

Man, if you've got 8 balls you could make millions shooting porn movies... er, wait... oh, you mean Ernie Ball basses.

The '08 LE iis really tempting to me. I've always been a sucker for Rootbeer finishes. I honestly think that finish'd look better with chrome hardware than gold, I think it'd balance the warmth of the sparkle finish better. But I should be talking to you about this in the Basses forum, not derailing your thread about your sweet amp collection... :)

Um, I don't mean to further derail the thread but... in that first picture, um... is that you in the framed photo to the right of the headstock? Y'know the naked dude? Not that I'm interested or anything. :? lol

Yeah that’s me almost naked with a SR5, it’s a long story the Cliff note version goes like this.

This was a joke I did over at the EBMM site. One guy (Joe Nerve) posted a picture of himself naked except for a carefully placed Bongo. Joe is this well built handsome character but I’m an old fat guy. I posted my version as a spoof of Joe’s picture, it was just for laughs. Then when I went to the EBMM open house I was presented with the “Jack LaLanne Award” and my stupid picture framed. I’ve become pretty good friends with Sterling Ball and all because of that joke.

Chuck's in the house! :D

Wow, I never thought that people GASsed over amps. I've always had a working's man approach to amps, and only have one.

Those Ampegs look delish.

The rootbeer LE 2008 looks nice, so much better with chrome - I think gold is a bit tacky. Too bad I'm such an EB/MM hater. . . :x

When did you become a MM hater Carlos? You've owned your fair share of MM bassses.
It doesn't see much use right now but I'll always love my Stingray.

I love EBMM’s they work for me, but I love my Fenders too and of course the Rob Allen. Carlos’s praise of the new American Standard Jazz has me wanting one of those too. I have a couple of MIJ’s and a Joe Osborn but I want an American Jazz… hell, and the new P too. I’m a sick man.
